Succot - The kiddush in our Succah - & Simchat Torah 2010

The special Kiddush in the Succah on Shabbat Chol Hamoed Succot was indeed special in many ways.  With a turnout of over 70 people (the majority being ladies), the shul was brimming with an atmosphere of days gone-by, when we could muster those numbers on a regular Shabbat.  The service as usual was top class with Reverend Lev.  The succah tables were heaving with savoury foods, fruit platters and trays of cakes and biscuits and with a sparkling sun filtering through the shkah, our succah was indeed blessed and beautiful.  Thank you to everyone who helped make this day so special, and above all, thank you to everyone who came to join us celebrate Succot so appropriately.  Please G-d may we celebrate many more Chagim together.
The Simchat Torah service on Thursday evening was one of the most beautiful and most inspiring Sutton has celebrated in many years.  As usual, Reverend Meir Lev excelled himself and the decorum and festivities with the Hakafot made this an exhilarating evening to remember.
Our Chatan Torah David Perl and Chatan Bereshit Mervyn Smith together with Eshet Chayil Beryl Osborne spoke passionately and amused the congregation with interesting anecdotes.
The shul was completely packed in the ladies section and well filled in the men's.  The service was followed by a magnificent reception sponsored by the Chatanim and prepared by many ladies in the community.  The Honorary Officers and Board of Management extend their appreciation for the generosity of the sponsors and the assistance of all the volunteers.
